Graduate, 4th grader, K1 scholar (part of the original infant class)

The Maldonado’s are a Mission Grammar family through and through. All three of their children have been part of our community: Adrian is a graduate of Mission Grammar and now attends Cathedral, Arianna is in the fourth grade, and Nathan is now in K1 (he was part of our inaugural infant class!).

Gerline, their mother, remembers going on a tour with Mrs. Dutson when looking for a school close to work for their kids. She felt the safe and nurturing environment of the school right away, a feeling that has only deepened over the family’s time at the school. “Mission Grammar has been a blessing for our family. It’s not just a place where we send our kids. It’s really a second family.”

When asked about what makes Mission Grammar special, Gerline shares that communication between teachers and home is what really stands out. It makes her feel a part of all of the moments that are happening at school, through the relationships with teachers and being able to look at their day on social media. Thinking back, Gerline remembers her own fears around sending Nathan into school at 3 months, but his teacher Ms. Ly was incredible at documenting all of those small moments happening at school including the first time he flipped over and crawled. She believes that the communication showed an investment in her children that is hard to find. Not to mention, her children love learning because of the outstanding teachers and staff at Mission Grammar!
